TRAININGS & WORKSHOPS

“Diva Worship & Barbie Doll Desires?”: Looking into Homophobia and the Root of Gay men’s Sexism: In this talk and training; Yolo leads an interactive exploration into the sexism of gay men by  demystifying the assumption that gay men are not sexist and pulling apart assumptions of  who the “gay man” is.  Includes Poetry Performances.

“Invisible Beatings”: The Erasure of Queer, Trans and Lesbian Women in the Mainstream Movement to End  Violence Against Women.

In this talk and training Yolo leads the group to explore the psychological and social reasoning behind why the  “mainstream movement to end violence against women” has been so invested in defining gender based violence through a normative heterosexual lens and how identities of trans, queer and other female embodied identities are neglected under the “violence against women” construct.

“Breathing Spirit; Being Feminist”: Constructing a Critical Spirituality

How do we construct a critical thinking spirituality that is not religious? What does the intersection of Metaphysical theory and feminist theory look like? How do they talk to each other? In this talk Yolo explains current work and theories of the political sacred. Includes Poetry Performances.
