The Astrology Of Obama: All Air and No Earth? You Decide.

When I first had the opportunity to “read” Obama’s energy, via A speech he gave during the 2008 election period, I was not impressed.

While I found something likeable about him, I also felt there was something else about him that seemed untrustworthy…..fickle…..“unfixed” even.  Mind you, my perception of him was largely colored by my own astrological placements, namely my 9th house Taurus Moon, which makes it relatively easy for me to pick up on emotional instability or inconsistency in others.  ( Our perceptions of other’s energies are always colored by our own.)

Nevertheless, I  was intrigued at how he managed to capture America’s heart and attention. I was impressed with his forward thinking ( Encapsulated by his Aquarius rising sign/ascendant) and his ability to stay above the fray, refusing too “lower” himself to the typical debauchery and foolishness that marks presidential campaigns. ( A trait he gets from his Leo sun. Leo’s often use the “moral high ground” tactic in battle as a way to humiliate and embarrass indviduals by exposing their “base” nature.)

But then there was just….that “thing.” That thing I didn’t like that made me say “I just don’t know ya’ll.” And the first time I got a good glimpse at his astrological chart, given to us with accuracy via the birther foolishness, I found out exactly what it was: His Gemini Moon.

Alas, I had figured out what was setting my “spidey sense off!” Then, taking a moment to reflect upon Obama’s life history, some other pieces begin to fell in place. I remember thinking: “Wait, He’s bi racial? And His moon in is Gemini, the sign of duality and “people pleasing psychic social survival?!” And his moon is in the 4th house of home?

Uh oh. To quote the 95 south boys: “Whoop There it is.”

A gemini moon is a difficult emotional placement. The moon is always in flux, and gemini energy is always on the move. This creates an emotional nature that it’s hard to get a grip on, both for the individual and others around them.

Our moon sign also shows how we seek nurturing and what subconscious forces drive us in the world. Obama is driven by a quest, however subconscious, to eliminate and reconcile duality by bringing all sides of the circle together. He has stated this several times, in his critque of two party politics, but the driving force is not the dem/reps, i would argue that on a subconscious level, Obama’s relationship to the two parties is driven by his childhood desire to reconcile and appease the two races he existed between, a common psychological challenge for bi-racial children born in a racist society.

His emotional stability is predicated upon this desire to be “liked” by all, the landmark struggle of all Gemini energies. This is why Gemini’s get their reputation for being “two faced”, because they will present whatever face they need to at whatever moment to make sure that they blend in. They are social chameleons, changing color to fit  whatever space or scenario they find themselves located. For Obama, I would argue his party politics are merely a symbol of that same psychological struggle.

But wait, there’s more. Remember when Hillary Clinton accused Barack of being “naive” in terms of the possibilities of uniting Washington and his foreign policy? Well, she may have been right. Barack has neptune in the 9th house of philosophy. This placement gives him both the power of a visionary and at the same time the makings of one who’s philisophical perception can be deluded and  ”imaginary”. Looking on at the past few months and Barack’s constant appeals to the tea party and other foolishness, Hillary may  have been right.

In summary, Here we have a man who has the uncanny ability to inspire and uplift the American people ( Leo Sun), a forward thinking mind and image that makes him, at least in appearance, one of the most progressive presidents in history (Aquarius rising) but a “people pleasing” inability to stand firm and stand strong to his morals and ethics (gemini moon)  coupled with a strong subconscious desire to be liked ( Gemini moon, Lilith in leo) that makes him at times an ineffective and sometimes even delusional leader who has unrealistic notions of his own capabilities (Neptune in the 9th house, Chiron in pisces, Pisces rules first house).

However, All is not lost for Barack. He does have the Mars in Virgo (Analytical prowess, strategy) and the sun in the 6th house.  He also has the 10th house sagittarius which is a great placement for say, a motivational speaker, preacher, or spiritual leader..but not necessarily a president governing a populace of people who on average carry a 6th grade education.

The fact is, he may be too “deep” for this political moment and too “airy” to effectively enact his desires for progressive policy because he’s continually conflicted.

In astrology talk, he may be a little to much air ( ideas, enthusiasm) and not enough earth ( practicality, realism, comittment).

This post is merely my surface thoughts on President Obama. There is SO Much that can be analyzed having some one’s full birth chart that this could be a 10 page post.

There are also many more astrological analysis on the president that I would encourage you to check out, as well as many predictive astrologer’s analysis on whether he will win the 2012 election.

Until next, time!

Great insight, Yolo. Often when I look at Obama I see his Saturn/Jupiter conjunction in Capricorn in the 12th house. Very powerful, ambitious and focused sign. He may be far from perfect but he is the man of the times a man needed for this time.
